How Can You Decide If Using A Camera Is Ethical Or Not?

Spy equipment has always been a topic of discussion in law with some advocating the use of it while others seeing it as a hindrance in the personal space of a person which is a crime. There are spy gadgets in the world which are beyond our imagination and probably some of us may think that they exist only in the 007 movies. Host of devices ranging from GPS logger, audio recorders as small as flash drives and cameras in the facial tissue dispenser are some of the examples that reflect the level to which this market has reached.

What experts say?

Though the majority of people purchase such devices for the safety of their family members and want to keep any eye on their house while they are outside, time and again the incidents of misuse have surfaced. Some legal experts say that it is a personal decision and depends upon who are you using a camera for. For instance, if parents are buying a camera and putting it in their house to watch over the nanny who comes for the care of their toddler, then there is nothing wrong in that.

On the other hand, if you slip a camera in the bag of an employee who also happens to be your neighbor and working in a competitive company then it is illegal and you can serve jail for this. If you want to be within the ethical line, it is best to inform the visitors that they are under camera surveillance once they enter your property.
